Here's a few snapshots of Lima, Peru's very bohemian and rustic Barranco district. This part is unlike ANY OTHER part of Lima with it's beautiful one story (occasionally two stories) spanish colonial style houses with ultra high ceilings and surrounded by a great deal of greenery. A popular night time hang out for the 20 something crowd as an alternative to the more upscale and active Miraflores district.
Shot on a Pentax A20 10 Megapixel digital camera.
This picture here includes the famous Mochilleros establishment on the right. It is a beautiful one story residence converted into a restaurant/pub with an outside patio courtyard for seating guests, an attached hostel, and a downstairs underground bar where local music acts perform. A popular night time hangout spot.
(Last Photograph) This building is a bit more modern and on the beach. It has the advantages of being on the beach and being in a more relaxed part of the district and IS ALSO walking distance to the more happening part of the district. A resident on that street could easily be partying one minute watching a band play at a local pub and the next minute be at home and be able to relax.
